Illumimoment: Form Design Through Movement Analysis

This project is derived from a movement study based on a photograph from Robert Longo’s “Men in the Cities” series. The interactive sculpture is meant to create a movement disassociation for the user with the environment around them. It was designed to create varying levels of illumination with layered transparent material in between opaque material. It was planned to be in a centralized location on Lehigh University’s campus where a former sculpture had been destroyed by a dead tree branch that fell during a storm. The sculpture encourages students to take a moment away from their academic frustrations and experience a new and pure moment of contemplation. Because life, is but a mere culmination of moments and how we define them.
